Additional Notice for COVID-19 infection Prevention and Control on Campus

As we continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and in compliance with directives from the Ministry of Education, South Korea. It started enforcing special entry procedure for passengers from March 19th arriving from all countries to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus. Accordingly, UOS will be taking additional measures as follows:

 

 

* Effective 19th March, all arrivals from abroad are required to quarantine for 14 days.

* Effective 15th March, it is applied to anyone coming from France, Germany, Spain, England and Netherlands must be required to be in quarantined for 14 days.

* Effective 12th March, it is applied to anyone coming from Iran, Italy must be required to be in quarantined for 14 days.

* Effective 9th March, it is applied to anyone coming from Japan must be required to be in quarantined for 14 days.

* Effective 12th February, it is applied to anyone coming from Hong Kong, Macao must be required to be in quarantined for 14 days.

* Effective 4th February, it is applied to anyone coming from Mainland China must be required to be in quarantined for 14 days

 

1. Recommendation

- If you have respiratory symptoms (fever, cough, sore throat, etc.) before entering to Korea, please visit S. Korea after full recovery.

 

2. Notice for the Special Entry Restriction into South Korea for anyone come from above-mentioned countries.

- Upon arrival, send the email to IICE office.

- Follow the Special Entry Procedures for people who come from above mentioned countries.

1) It is required to fill out the Health Questionnaire and a Special Travel Record Declaration, which will be distributed onboard, including their contact information and address in Korea.

2) Complete to fill out the Special Quarantine Declaration Form in-flight and Submit the form to Special Quarantine Checkpoint upon arrival.

3) Install ‘Self-Diagnosis Mobile Application’ to confirm contact information and monitor your health status. (At designated separate entry halls, the immigration officials will collect the Health Questionnaire and will check travelerstemperature, whether the travelers can be reached via the mobile phone number provided, and whether the travelers have downloaded the Self-Diagnosis Mobile Application.)

4) After installing the Mobile App, you should record daily health status or symptoms on the app for up to 14 days. (*) Self-diagnosis categories: fever (37.5(Celsius) or higher) or feverish feeling, cough, sore throat, respiratory difficulties or breathlessness

5) IICE office will call you to check your health status two times a day and you are required to fill it out the self-diagnosis health status record every day offered by IICE office.

- This application for travelers from 8 countries, they should install and record the health status every day for 14 days.

Check the symptom of COVID-19 infections. (i.e. such as fever, cough, sore throats, etc.)

- Choose “having a symptom for two consecutive days” Connect with the municipal government Check whether you are visiting the designated medical centers

 

3. Instruction for being in quarantined for 14 days

1) Please self-check your symptom 2 times a day and share your health status to the IICE office. Also, please enter your health status on mobile Application and record the self-diagnosis two times a day.

Please record if you take a medicine such as cold medicine, antipyretic and share it to IICE staff.

2) Do not leave the quarantine area to prevent the spread of disease.

3) Stay alone in an isolated area. If you stay in public facilities, please wear a facial mask and keep a distance of over 2 meters or 6 feet and do not share your personal toiletries, clothing, bedclothes and so forth.

4) If you need to leave the area for an inevitable reason, you must report your travel history to IICE office and wear a facial mask and minimize expected travel distance and time.

5) During this quarantine period, it is not permitted to come to the campus and to access the UOS facilities such as restaurants (cafeterias), library and so forth.

6) Be extra careful about your personal hygiene. (such as wearing a facial mask, washing your hands, using hand sanitizer, etc.)

7) Use personal items separately. (personal towel, tableware, mobile phone, etc.)

8) Comply with the health guideline.

 

Those who have recorded any symptom should call to the Dongdaemun District Health Center at 2127-4283, 5422 or the KCDC (Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) Call Center at 1339.

 

Upon completion of the self-quarantined period for 14 days, please follow the further steps as following, it will be possible to come to the UOS campus only if you have no symptom.

1) Please visit the University Clinic Center. (2nd floor of the student hall, building number #12 on campus map)

2) Please submit the self-health record and take a medical checkup.

3) If you show no symptoms, they will give you the proof of confirmation.
